Job Details
The Director of Sales is responsible for leading all sales and retention efforts across all product lines in the small and mid-sized employer group markets and for all individual product lines in the individual consumer market for the Company.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Directs, leads and oversees staff in accomplishing work objectives within the unit(s). Coaches, motivates, rewards and recognizes subordinates. Sets clear goals, objectives and performance expectations and holds employees accountable for achieving results.
• Provides leadership for staff in multiple district offices across the state of North Dakota.
• Develops annual sales and retention goals, provides effective sales training and ensures that sales and retention goals are met in all product lines including applicable subsidiary products for staff.
• Collaborates with key stakeholders to ensure sales incentives align with company goals. Tracks the results of sales and retention goals and ensures incentives drive desired sales behaviors.
• Develops and implements policy and procedures for area of responsibility.
• Champions internal corporate initiatives within the division related to strategic planning, product development, problem resolution and implementation of new corporate programs.
• Maintains Company's professional image and citizenship in the community by supporting and promoting community and local service club activities.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Required: Bachelor's
Preferred: Bachelor's
Field(s) of Study: Marketing, Business, Management or related field
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Required: Minimum of 7 Years
Preferred: Minimum of 10 Years
Experience Details: Minimum of 7 years of direct sales, sales training, sales strategy or related experience, of which 5 years of supervisory/staff leadership experience is required.
CERTIFICATION, LICENSURES & REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS
Title: Must have or obtain Insurance Producer License within 3 months of hire and maintain continuing education requirements annually.
State or Agency: ND
Equivalent combination of education, experience or training determined to be acceptable by Human Resources may be substituted, unless regulated by contract or program standards
