Minimum Hiring Salary/Position Classification: $43,700+/Annual, Full-Time, Benefited, Non-Exempt
Benefits: Includes single or family health care coverage (premiums paid for by the university), basic life insurance, EAP, retirement plan, tuition waiver, annual and sick leave.  Optional benefits available: supplemental life, dental, vision, long-term care insurance, flexible spending account, supplemental retirement plans.
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm (some travel involved, which could include overnight stays and varying work hours)

Position Details
:

This position is responsible for managing and advancing the Professional Development for Educators (PDE) Program.  The PDE program offers face-to-face workshops, online and vendor courses that pre K-12 educators and administrators can take for graduate professional development credit.  This program also provides a venue for schools to receive graduate professional development credit for their locally planned, on-site learning events and their “cafeteria style”/cum credit professional development plans.  Teachers and administrators use this graduate professional development credit for lane changes and to meet their on-going licensing requirements.

Responsibilities:
Grow and manage the Cumulative Credit and Credit Submission portion of the Professional Development for Educators (PDE) Program.

  • Provide outreach to K-12 school districts in North Dakota.
  • Follow up with school districts to discuss their cafeteria style/cum credit professional development plans.
  • Provide training to school administrators requiring assistance submitting their cum credit plans or attached credit submissions.
  • Closely monitor the Credit Approval Submission Database System to assure the submissions are thorough, accurate and the approval process is moving in a timely manner.
  • Assist with annual budget development and course budgets.

Grow and manage the PDE course offerings.

  • Stay abreast of changing industry needs and how the PDE program can be a leader in this market.
  • Through networking, conference attendance and committee membership, be cognizant of changes occurring within the educational field; looking for opportunities to grow the PDE program.
  • Review and interpret state and national regulations in regards to pre K-12 teacher and administrator credentialing and licensing.
  • Survey and compile data to determine viability of new course ideas and existing courses.
  • Recruit, contract and hire instructors for PDE course development.
  • Review new and existing courses for quality, consistency, errors, broken links and appropriate online protocol.
  • Work with OEL team members to be sure the PDE Website and Shopping Cart listings are accurate.
  • Recruit new vendors to partner with PDE.
  • Work with vendors to enroll students in a timely manner, resolve their grievances and see that payments are made within a timely manner.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors degree, preferably in K-12 Education
  • Experience in teaching K-12 or K-12 Education
  • Computer proficiency in: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, use of internet.
  • Experience with and understanding of program development and budget management.
  • Successful completion of criminal history background check.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with  market research and needs assessments.
  • Experience with BlackBoard, or other learning management systems, and online learning.
