Minimum Hiring Salary/Position Classification:   $57,143/Annual, Full-Time, Benefited, Exempt
Benefits: Includes single or family health care coverage (premiums paid for by the university), basic life insurance, EAP, retirement plan, tuition waiver, annual and sick leave.  Optional benefits available: supplemental life, dental, vision, flexible spending account, supplemental retirement plans.
Work Schedule:  Monday-Friday, 8:00 am-4:30 pm; Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends

  • Generate creative ideas and present video concepts
  • Write scripts and collaborate with Content Strategist and other writers
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across campus to coordinate productions and logistics of video shoots
  • Operate professional video equipment, including cameras, lighting and audio gear
  • Operate audio equipment and ensure proper sound quality in videos
  • Capture high-quality video footage for use in digital communications
  • Use Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects and Media Encoder and other software to produce video projects
  • Manage music licensing account
  • Ensure graphics and animation meet brand standards
  • Prepare video files in proper formats
  • Manage the UND YouTube and Vimeo accounts
  • Distribute video assets to campus users, including writing summaries and social media content
  • Archive video footage using file management processes
  • Ensure video deliverables are consistent with UND’s brand, mission and vision, and meet established standards for quality.
  • Perform routine maintenance on equipment; coordinate other maintenance needs with vendors
  • Manage video equipment inventory
  • Create strategies to communicate marketing messages through video, ensuring messages are consistent with UND’s brand, mission and vision
  • Collaborate with Creative Director to prioritize projects, create an editorial plan and establish video strategies
  • Coordinate with video and event production vendors
  • Collaborate with Web and Social Media team to produce videos for digital channels, including the UND web site, social media and digital advertising
  • Work with Communications staff to create videos that support UND’s media relations efforts
  • Collaborate with Graphic Designers to ensure brand consistency in graphics and typography
  • Work with Marketing Project Managers to ensure department requests are prioritized and completed
  • Meet with stakeholders across campus to gain insight, propose strategies and plan video projects
  • Manage video staff, including hiring, evaluation, supervision, motivation, training, discipline and appropriate delegation of duties
  • Provide leadership and direction to video staff
  • Give technical and creative feedback on video projects
  • Collaborate with Creative Director to manage schedules and assignments for video staff
  • Verify video assignments are completed in a timely manner
  • Collaborate with other video producers across campus to share information and resources and ensure brand standards are met
  • Track progress of video projects in online project management system
  • Contribute to an optimistic and enthusiastic workplace that challenges and energizes staff
  • Support the workplace culture of the Division and University by demonstrating the professional conduct and values expected of all employees
  • Be forward thinking and explore new opportunities for growth and improvement. Continually improve and advance personal leadership through professional development and continuing education
  • Attend staff meetings, retreats, planning sessions, trainings, and other meetings/events as required
  • Attend statewide, regional, and national conferences, workshops, as they relate to video, especially student-engagement marketing and higher education
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Arts, Technology or related field
  • 3 years of direct job-related experience
  • A strong experience with video editing software, including Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects and Media Encoder
  • Proficiency with video editing techniques and best practices
  • Experience with video equipment, including cameras, lighting and accessories
  • Experience in storyboarding, planning and directing video projects
  • Experience preparing video files for website, email and social media use
  • Experience  planning and creating videos as part of an integrated marketing campaign
  • Experience working in an environment with multiple deadlines, including demonstrated ability to prioritize and meet multiple requests
  • Valid Drivers License
  • Successful completion of criminal history background check
