What You'll Take Ownership Of:
  • Performing analysis of network and technology solutions needs and contributing to design of network architecture, integration and installation.
  • Maintaining network hardware and software, including servers, switches, hubs, routers, access points, peripherals, network nodes, terminals, wiring, and other infrastructure devices.
  • Staying current on new technologies to evaluate potential impact on company's current environment.
  • Working with consultants to ensure that the computer system platform provides sufficient computing resources to deliver the desired level of business performance
  • Coordinating with other departments in order to understand and meet their requirements.
  • Evaluating network hardware and software requirements and capabilities and making recommendations based on long-term company objectives.
  • Checking systems in order to optimize performance and to initiate recovery action after system failures.
  • Establishing budgetary requirements for equipment replacement.
  • Coordinating and maintaining systems access and security.
  • Providing support to and training other support staff in local area network administration and usage.
  • Monitoring and maintaining network stability, collecting and analyzing network and memory utilization, and installing and testing server or network related software upgrades. Could include end user desktop's connection to corporate communication infrastructure.
  • Managing server operation scheduling, backup, storage and retrieval functions.
  • Coordinating third-party maintenance for network hardware and software services.
  • Developing or establishing strong relationships with service providers.
  • Preparing and maintaining documentation of network configurations and cabling layouts.
  • Helping to develop, maintain and test disaster recovery plans.
  • Assist in Equipment Maintenance Projects including security cameras, GPS, cell phones, phone systems, photocopiers, printers and data lines
  • Prepare and maintain documentation pertaining to the design, objectives and operations of the department
  • Reviewing, monitoring and standardizing building security and access controls
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Need-To-Haves:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Computer Systems or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of network administration experience and evaluating and implementing technologies in a fast-paced business environment
  • Working knowledge of networking equipment: routers, switches, and hubs
  • Experience working with an ERP system
  • Ability to research, analyze, understand, and problem-solve technical material
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize projects effectively
  • Strong communication skills to communicate with technical and non-technical personnel, with the ability to develop positive working relationships with leadership, employees, and IT vendors
  • Ability to lift 70+ lbs, stand/walk for up to 10 hours, and push, pull, squat, bend, sit, crawl and reach.
  • Ability to travel, including overnight stays
  • Participate in a weekend on-call rotation
  • Participate in a Technical Support Work Group, taking calls from end-users
