Production Supervisor

Production Supervisor

This position supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in laminating fiberglass in blade and sub-component molds; cut and grind, finishing and final assembly of blades; and activities of blades ensuring personnel, equipment, and materials are used properly to maximize quality and productivity.

Main mission of the role

• Organize, train and assign workers according to production requirements.
• Evaluate performance and quality of each team member to ensure work is done safe, correct and on time. Complete scheduled performance reviews and submit appropriate paperwork to human resources.
• Ensure that all safety policies are followed, and incidents are reported immediately.
• Comply with the control of documents with work instructions and forms.
• Answer questions and provide communication with employees on a wide range of issues.
• Assist in troubleshooting production problems and request help.
• Track labor costs, raw material and consumable usage and recommend measures to reduce costs.
• Participate in supervisor development meetings and training and continuous improvement activities.
• Recommend or initiate personnel action such as disciplinary and discharge measures.

Your qualifications

• Two-year degree in business, manufacturing or closely related field or 4 years supervisor experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong Communication skills required
• Computer knowledge required
• Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, 5s, ISO 14001 and OSHA 18001

Compensation and Benefits

• Starting salary will be dependent upon experience.  This position is within the GE Professional Pay Band (PB).
