Minimum Hiring Salary/Position Classification:  $32,000/annual  Benefitted, Exempt.
Benefits: Includes single or family health care coverage (premiums paid for by the university), basic life insurance, EAP, retirement plan, tuition waiver, annual and sick leave.  Optional benefits available: supplemental life, dental, vision, flexible spending account, supplemental retirement plans.
Work Schedule:  Will be required to travel and work a varied schedule with flexible evening and weekend hours.

The Admissions Representative is responsible for the recruitment of undergraduate and graduate students to the University of North Dakota.  The position delivers the UND recruitment message to his/her territory’s high schools, community colleges, colleges working closely with prospective graduate, freshman and transfer students, their parents, and administrators.  Admissions Representatives support the Admissions recruitment mission and the overall mission of the University.  The messages conveyed and strategies employed will be consistent with an overall strategic student recruitment plan.


The purpose of this position is to:
 

  • Communicate extensively with prospective students
  • Maintain a recruitment territory and travel to schools within that territory
  • Work as a team member to promote the success of the Office of Admissions



Required Competencies:
 

  • Ability to relate to and develop rapport with a diverse range of students as well as high school & college counselors/advisors.
  • Strong communication and public relations skills including the ability to express ideas clearly, in a convincng and credible manner.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a team player.
  • Demonstrated ability in problem solving, sound decision making and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to represent the University in a professional manner.
  • Strong organizational skills and demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to travel and work a varied schedule with flexible evening and weekend hours.
  • Ability to travel to remote locations (valid driver's license) as needed.
  • Able to load and transport admissions materials, displays and other equipment (lift up to 40 lbs).

Minimum Requirements:
 

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Internet.
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Successful completion of Criminal History Records Check

 Preferred Qualifications:
 

  • Experience directly related to successful college recruitment & promotion.
  • Experience in marketing, public relations, or sales.
  • Experience with programs and services offered at UND.
  • Graduate degree.
  • Experience working with graduate students and faculty.
