Heavy Equipment Field Service Technician

Responsibilities:
The position will involve but not be limited to the following duties:
• Daily repair, maintenance, trouble-shooting, preventive maintenance and start-up of natural gas compressors and natural gas engines at customer locations on scheduled and unscheduled equipment repairs and maintenance
• Excellent diesel, mechanical and technical experience with natural gas compressors and familiar with Caterpillar/Ariel/Gardner Denver packages
• Responsible for failure analysis, testing, preventative maintenance to complete on-site overhauls
• Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments
• Communicates professionally with customers on repairs
• Works overtime as workload dictates
• Works in other areas of shop as assigned
• Travels for work, to other BMC and customer locations
• Maintains a clean and safe work environment
• Completes service reports and parts orders accurately and timely
• Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
• Must be able to lift up to 70 lbs
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
• Two year Associates degree in related field preferred
• Four years of experience as a technician in the Natural Gas Compression industry
• Excellent customer service skills and an outgoing personality
• Ability to assemble and disassemble components
• Troubleshooting and repair of Gas Compressors
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Strong Communication skills
• Good computer skills
• Ability to meet and maintain insurability standards to drive a company vehicle
• Must have a CDL or the ability to obtain a CDL
