Positions in this function include those responsible for management and administration of multiple functions, or management of general business operations. This position will manage daily operations of multiple levels of staff and multiple functions / departments across one or more business units, and will require day to day site operations, management of leadership internal and external to organization, with accountability for financial and non-financial results (budgets and actuals).

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manages the end to end operations process for Medica Medical Operations including claims, billing, enrollment, and benefit set up
  • Participates in functional strategy for organizational priorities, production, cost initiatives and operational execution, including:
    • Process Quality management to defined goals
    • Process improvement
    • Defect identification and removal
    • Accurate Forecast planning at the team level
    • Drive KMI performance at the business level annually
    • Communicate successes, opportunities/risk timely and effectively
    • Materially improve employee experience for your organization
  • Utilize standard project plan templates to create and/or tailor project plans to specific customers' needs
  • Provide guidance, expertise, and / or assistance to internal and / or external partners (e.g., claims, call center, benefits, billing and Enrollment, benefit set up) to ensure programs and strategies are implemented and maintained effectively
  • Communicate with and help internal and / or external partners interpret contractual requirements in order to assist internal and / or external business partners with completion of tasks and resolution of issues and problems with program implementation
  • Establish and / or implement internal and / or external service level agreements in order to ensure ability to monitor and measure program performance (e.g., turnaround time, quality, effectiveness)
  • Identify and resolve technical, operational and organizational impacts to organization with groups outside of own team
  • Manage talent and bench strength within the Medica Medical operations team effectively
  • Responsible for building and maintaining the relationship with the Medica claims operations team
  • Responsible for building and maintaining cross functional relationships with strategic business partners

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma / GED (or higher)
  • 3+ years of supervisory / managerial experience 
  • 2+ years of experience managing staff, process improvement, and quality assurance 
  • Intermediate (or higher) level of proficiency with Microsoft Office including Excel (inventory management & data collection), Word (editing and creating documents), and PowerPoint (presentations)
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
  • Available to work between 6:00 am - 5:00 pm Monday through Friday and be flexible to work around business needs which can include working weekends

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate Degree (or higher)
  • 2+ years of experience managing relationships with clients and / or vendors 
  • 5+ years of healthcare claims, billing, enrollment, and / or call center leadership experience 
  • 2+ years of experience developing presentations to include charting
  • 2+ years of Microsoft Office skills with Visio (project outlines, workflow management)
  • Understanding of claims, billing, enrollment, and/or call center processing systems
  • Senior Level Supervisory / Managerial experience in medical claims, billing, enrollment, and / or call center
  • Familiarity with UOM / VEPS methodology
