The Position:
The University of Wisconsin-River Falls is seeking an experienced and creative Marketing Specialist for the Continuing Education Office. This position provides marketing support for all Continuing Education (CE) programs and services, focusing on adult and non-traditional students, as well as youth-oriented programs. The primary focus is on designing and implementing marketing strategies to increase enrollment and matriculation from non-traditional student populations including adults, returning students, and veterans in credit and non-credit programs.

The marketing specialist will facilitate market research as needed, monitor and report on performance analytics as well as provide training for staff to understand and evaluate those efforts. The marketing specialist will be responsible for auditing and maintaining CE program websites and social media platforms, ensuring adherence of the same to UW-River Falls institutional standards and policies, and directing the development of new content for these channels. The marketing specialist will also oversee all digital and print advertising, print production, mail or electronic distribution, and coordination of promotional events.

The marketing specialist will create and manage marketing campaigns, in coordination with the institutional University Communications and Marketing (UCM) office as needed, and will meet with staff and academic partners to optimize the success of these projects. Will ensure compliance with the UWRF brand and visual identity standards. Finally, the marketing specialist will engage and cooperate with other campus offices to disseminate information about Continuing Education programs and services.

Marketing specialist will report to and work under the guidance of the CE Director.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
*Develop and implement marketing campaigns (50%)
*Research and implement best practices for all marketing activities;
*Facilitate market research, as needed, and refine target markets;
*Develop and implement - in collaboration with the director, program managers, and academic partners - multi-year and/or annual marketing plans;
*Research and deploy innovative tools and tactics, including those offered through vendors, with an emphasis on digital/social media campaigns, and related strategies to improve SEO results;
*Collaborate with CE staff and academic program partners to design new student recruitment strategies that are in line with overall campus recruitment efforts and conform to institutional brand standards;
*Provide analytics regarding marketing campaign's response rates, ROI, and relevant web analytics and train users in understanding those results; and,
*Manage workflow for promotional projects from inception to on-time implementation and remain within budget.


Develop and maintain Continuing Education digital and print media (30%)
*Develop and update digital and print media;
*Create, revise and update CE-related website and landing pages;
*Develop content, revise and update social media platforms;
*Coordinate and implement promotional events and/or trade show participation; and,
*Work with UCM to manage and develop CE-specific photography and videography assets;

Coordinate Continuing Education media and communication initiatives (20%)
*Facilitate engagement of CE office in the student recruitment and communication flows at the institution level;
*Maintain CE calendar of events and Axis TV postings;
*Create and distribute news releases and media advisories as needed for distribution by UCM to media and through institutional communications channels;
*Coordinate email/mailing list development and related activities;
*Align CE marketing efforts with campus branding and communication standards;
*Coordinate marketing activities with University Communications and Marketing and UW Extended Campus/CEOEL; and,
*Supervise student workers, as needed, in support of marketing activities.

Qualifications Required:
*A bachelor's degree in marketing or related field
*5 or more years work experience in marketing or related field
*Highly organized and detail-oriented
*Excellent time management skills
*Ability to work as a key team member
*Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
*Possess strong analytical and critical thinking skills
*Experience in website content management
*Demonstrated understanding and implementation of social media marketing (SMM)
*Ability to conduct and/or assess market research on customer groups and trends in the marketplace regarding program potential as well as competitive analysis
Ability to apply analytics to evaluate campaign success (e.g., MS Excel and Google Analytics skills)
*Understanding of identity and brand standards and demonstrated ability to adhere to standards
*Understanding of strategic messaging and demonstrated ability to adhere to strategy
*Candidates must have experience, and be able to work, with a diverse population
*Commitment to professional development and the goals of continuing education

Qualifications Preferred:
*A master's degree in a related field
*8-10 years' work experience in marketing or related field, preferably in post-secondary adult education
*Working knowledge of MS Office 365, Adobe Creative Suite, HTML editor, and CMS systems.
