Description

We are currently looking for a Director of Therapy Services be part of CaringEdge, a program within Edgewood Healthcare. This position is responsible for ensuring that patient rehabilitative care is coordinated and managed appropriately.  This position is responsible for ensuring that therapy services are delivered appropriately, documentation of therapy services meets all requirements as well as the supervision of therapy professionals.  

Responsibilities:
  • Receives case referrals.  Reviews available patient information related to case, including disciplines required, to determine home care needs.  Assigns appropriate therapists to case.
  • Reviews and evaluates each case by reviewing the services provided by the therapists, including case conferences and documentation review, discusses and verifies impressions, instructs and guides therapists to promote more effective performance and delivery of quality home care services, and is available at all times during operating hours to assist therapists as appropriate.
  • Assists therapists in establishing immediate and long-term rehabilitation goals, in setting priorities, and in developing plan of care.
  • Assists therapists in overseeing assignment and supervision of therapy assistants.
  • Attends case conference meetings with organization personnel to facilitate coordination of care.
  • Conducts quarterly record reviews and communicates findings and recommendations to Clinical Director and appropriate organization personnel.
  • Completes on-site supervisory visits as necessary.
  • Maintain accountability for therapy staff productivity, utilization and documentation standards.
  • Assists in the screening and interviewing process of new organization personnel and
    makes recommendations for employment of individuals.  Assists in the orientation of
    new therapy personnel.
  • Assists Clinical Director in the planning, implementation and evaluation of inservice and continuing education programs.
  • Assists in the formulation, revision, implementation, and evaluation of policies and procedures, as well as strategic goals and objectives.


  • Minimum Requirements

    • Current state license as a Physical Therapist or Speech/Language Pathologist.
    • Graduate of an accredited therapy program.
    • Two years management or supervisory experience in a rehabilitation therapy department or program, preferably home care.
    • Complies with accepted professional standards and practice.
    • Complies and maintains current CPR certification.
    • Licensed driver with automobile that is in good working order and insured in accordance with organization requirements.
    • Demonstrates excellent observation, verbal and written communication skills.
