Agtegra Cooperative is seeking a East Region Agronomy Technology Sales Lead. We are flexible about where this position will be located within the East Region.

Position Summary

The Agronomy Technology Sales Lead will assist RSM and RM to build user confidence and grower adoption of Ag Technology tools to drive overall agronomy sales regionally. This employee must have excellent people and sales skills, be able to work in a team environment, and provide the technical expertise needed to run a successful business. The Ag Technology Sales Lead should be viewed as an extension of the leadership in their region and be able to conduct weekly location meetings as instructed by RSM or RM.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Fully understand, promote and help to achieve the Ag Technology Strategic Plan as developed by the Director of Agronomy Technology Services.

  • 1st point of contact for regional agronomy team members in the support of MZB, Climate Corp., Winfield R7 and other technical agronomy platforms as advised.

  • Be a leader in the overall development of regional staff members in order to reach regional goals as directed by the Regional Sales Manager.

  • Key stakeholder, in the training, and adoption of the MZB Management zone system, related zone products and the FieldReveal Tools software platform.

  • Works Closely with the FieldReveal Mapping center to maintain a very high level of expertise with the FieldReveal software platform.

  • Identify opportunities to promote increased awareness of challenges between operations and sales to successfully implement the Ag Technology Strategic Plan.

  • Yearly review and segmenting of Sales Agronomist team adoption and use of our Ag Technology product offerings.

  • Identify necessary training or coaching activities to move our sales agronomists into the next level of adoption

  • Work with Agronomy Technology Coordinator and Ag Technology product reps, to identify feature specific training materials and curriculum for both growers and Sales Agronomy team.

  • Understand and promote the goods and services provided by the Innovation Center technical team and encourage cross selling opportunities between Agronomy Sales and the Innovation Center teams.

  • As directed by Regional Sales Manager - Initiate joint sales calls to new and current customers, coach sales agronomist's through objections, how to deal with obstacles and to identify further sales opportunities.

  • Utilize standardized templates to guide in the development of yield trials, agronomy studies and technology studies that will assist in the creation of producer focused, ROI supportive, sales and marketing materials relative to the technologies being tested as directed by the Agronomy Technical ServicesTeam.

  • Examines results of above crop production studies to help drive market awareness of Ag Technology components or findings that maximize return on investment for our Patrons.

  • Organizes and leads employee/customer information meetings and trainingseminars as directed by the Director of Ag Technology Services or Regional Sales Managers.

  • Provides clear communication to Regional Sales Managers and reports weekly status updates. This may include the use of a Customer Relationship Management tool.

  • Adheres to all safety regulations, requirements, policies and procedures, including OSHA regulations, the Vehicle Policy and Fleet Safety Program, and DOT regulations.

  • Upholds all company policies as detailed in the Employee Handbook.
Education and Experience Required

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university in Agronomy, Agriculture, or Business; or equivalent from two-year college or technical school and two years related Precision Agriculture experience; or equivalent combination of education andexperience.

  • Ability to learn, adapt, use and train on new technology.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office (M.S. Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), Windows operating platforms and internet browsers. Advanced knowledge and proficiency with M.S. Excel.
