Job Information
The Lean Six Sigma team leads strategic business improvement through the execution & promotion of lean methodologies. This Coop position will be a strong team contributor and assist at eliminating waste and reduction process variation.
Role & Responsibility
- Participate in and lead Kaizen events.
- Lead Continuous Improvement Projects.
- Conduct Statistical Analysis.
- Lean Promotions
- Maintains and promotes lean standards at the site level.
- Supports continuous improvement.
- Develops and maintains the Lean Six Sigma tools.
- Mentors and Coaches LSS Kaizens and Projects.
- Priority Focus
- Assist in maintaining the Kaizen schedule of each site.
- Communicates the kaizen calendar throughout the organization.
- Tenacious Execution
- Lead the execution of key business improvement initiatives through the use of Lean DMAIC tool sets.
Job Requirement
Jr. or Sr. standing in Agricultural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Operations Management, Manufacturing Technology or Industrial Technology
GPA 3.0 or higher
Basic computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint)
Knowledge of drafting software preferred (ProE/Creo preferred or Solid Works)
Hands-on experience in farm work, mechanical work, carpentry, or similar area
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Project management skills are preferred
Previous co-op experience is a plus
Ability to follow written instructions
Strong prioritization, time management, and organizational skills.
Lean and Six Sigma experience is preferred.
Statistics and Minitab experience is a plus
Less than 10% travel required.

•Education Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent

•Must be able to follow established methods and procedures and perform work accordingly. Must have the ability to work rapidly and under time pressure for extended periods of time in order to meet build requirements. Must possess the ability to read build sheets and blueprints.
•The ability to communicate with supervisors and fellow workers in both written and verbal forms at a level normally acquired through the completion of a high school diploma or GED is required.
•Job specific skills, techniques and safe work and equipment operating practices are learned through on-the-job and classroom training. General instructions are given on recurring duties, operations and assignments; detailed instructions are given on new duties, operations and assignments.
