Job Description: •\tAn APC utilizes advanced health assessment, knowledge, and decision making skills, they work independently and in collaboration with physicians and other health care professionals. Advanced Practice Clinicians provide health care to individuals and families, emphasizing health promotion and disease prevention. They may care for patients ranging in age as noted in age-related category and area of expertise. Position requires high level of customer service skills to establish and enhance positive relationships with patients, co-workers, and others.

Position Details:
This position will be the first Nurse Practitioner integrated into a Hospitalist role within this capacity. The current team consists of 5 Physicians and 9 Advanced Practitioners that currently serve Deer River, Grand Rapids, and Remer. Our Physicians have historically covered the full spectrum. This is a new position and a new model for the team. The position is full time and salaried. Working on this team will allow you to work with dedicated, long term team members who communicate well with each other.

The position requires a high level of autonomy, however, there will always be an Emergency Medicine Physician in house. Family Medicine will have clinic hours Monday - Friday from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. and the determined Hospitalist will be available via telephone, Skype, or via the Telehealth cart. Consultation will be with the patient's current primary care provider.

Ideal candidate will have an Adult-Geriatric Acute Care certification and/or strong clinical background and ability to work independently. Strong communication skills as well as being a great team member is a must. In this position there may be other committee/policy work that may be asked of you. The team will provide a thorough mentoring and orientation period.

Anticipated Schedule:
7 a.m. - 5 p.m. with taking call during the remaining 14 hours of the night

10-hour onsite shifts - then switches to call within a 20 or 30-minute radius of Hospital

Average daily census is 3 - 5, if inpatient census does not support the full day of work, the NP will be asked to see same day patients in the clinic setting.

Call back time built into a 70 hour per pay period model

Schedule is 3 days on/7 days off/4 days on/7 days off

Licensure/CertificationQualifications:
EDUCATION:

Master's or Doctorate degree in Nursing from an accredited program.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

Current licensure as a registered nurse in Minnesota.

Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner in Minnesota

Current certification in CPR, ACLS, CALS

National certification, in applicable area.

Successful completion of Essentia Health credentialing process prior to practice.
