Typical Day in the Life

A typical day as a Technical Project, Product Manager may include the following:
  • Proactively communicates and collaborates with external and internal customers to analyze information needs and functional requirements, delivering the following artifacts as needed: business requirements, use cases and interface designs.
  • Performs business process analysis.
  • Drives and challenges business units on their assumptions of how they will successfully execute their plans.
  • Collaborates with innovation committees and subject matter experts to establish technical vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs.
  • Coordinates activities between the project sponsors and committee team members.
  • Assists with project scope formation by documenting project requirements and system deliverables.
  • Assists the business units in developing standard processes.
  • Assists with preparing budget entries for project expenditures.
  • Prepares the project plan and manages resource assignments.
  • Prepares risk assessments and contingency plans.
  • Prepares cost/benefit or ROI analysis.
  • Produces and distributes project status reports.
  • Manages project or scope change requests.
  • Learns and understands the product's technology at a deep level. Interface with the Innovation Council and committees, and the Development team to successfully support the Firm's strategy for the product.
  • Assists the innovation committee(s) with prioritizing product feature and functionality requirements.
  • Create a technical roadmap over the product's lifecycle ensuring the product meets the Firm's needs

 

Who You Are
  • Preferred that you have an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or a related field.
  • You have 2+ years of experience in IT portfolio and project management.
  • You have previous business analyst or business process management experience (preferred).
  • You have the ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing.

 

Must be authorized to work in the United States permanently without the requirement of sponsorship at any point in the future.
