Under the direction of the Network Administrator and guidance from the Lead Computer Technician, the Computer Technician II is responsible for installing, troubleshooting and supporting staff and students in the use of computer hardware (including tablets and other digital computing devices), peripherals and software in a network environment. Duties include the set up and maintenance of computers, printers, interactive whiteboards, projectors, scanners and other peripherals; and providing help desk support or on-site technical support.
Schedule: Full Time, M-F, 12 month position.
Minimum Qualifications :
*Associates Degree - Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information or related area.
Essential knowledge and specialized subject knowledge required to perform the essential functions of the job:
*Knowledge of computer operating systems including Windows, Chrome, iOS and Apple operating systems.
*Knowledge of hardware on multiple platforms, PC and Mac.
*Knowledge of mobile devices, mobile apps and MDM (Mobile Device Management, specifically Apple Configurator, Meraki and Google Chrome)
*Fundamentals of computer networking and connectivity including wireless networks.
*Knowledge of hardware components (including audiovisual systems), their operations and functions, and procedures for troubleshooting problems and conflicts.
*Knowledge of diagnostic, repair and troubleshooting procedures, techniques and procedures.
*Knowledge of district standardized applications and software including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office Suite and Google Apps for Education. Experience in supporting technology systems in a K-12 education enviroment preferred.
