JOB SUMMARY
Provides work direction of daily responsibilities of staff technologists. Performs diagnostic radiographic procedures through operation of specialized equipment. Possesses the skills and knowledge of diagnostic x-rays. Ability to perform related procedures and protocols. Ability to learn new technology and ability orient new technologists. Possesses the knowledge and skills to observe, evaluate, and participate in the educational processes of the radiologic technology students. Possesses the ability to professionally obtain information from patients or their responsible parties to further improve personalized treatment and care. Works to develop an understanding of the patient's physical and emotional status. Works well with all age groups. Delivers excellent patient care and education before, during, and after diagnostic imaging procedures. Ability to understand and navigate the electronic medical record (EMR) system. Willingness to perform additional duties as assigned.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Responds to day-to-day operational priorities while still making progress on project work. Recognizes changing demands and priorities; validates changes with management. Promotes organizational learning through knowledge management, training and development, sharing key experiences. Promotes and ensures patient satisfaction while complying with safety and regulatory requirements. Ensures an appropriate flow of communications within the team. Employs workflow standards to measure workflow performance. Demonstrates open, friendly, accepting, and supportive behaviors with team members. Consults on organizational radiology standards and their contributions to patient diagnosis. Checks documents thoroughly according to standard processes and procedures. Assign duties to radiologic staff and maintain patient flows and achieve production goals. Use radiation safety methods and protection devices to comply with government regulations and to ensure safety of patients and staff. Seeks opportunities to embrace challenging tasks while maintaining a positive attitude.
QUALIFICATIONS
Completion of an educational program accepted by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is required.
Working knowledge of diagnostic radiographic principles, including radiographic positioning, film/image processing, quality control, and radiation protection is required. Computer skills are preferred. Minimum of three years technical experience and a thorough knowledge of modern techniques and procedures used in the field of radiology.
Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is required. If working in North Dakota and performing medical imaging or radiation therapy procedures, licensure with the North Dakota Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Board (NDMIRT) is required. Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification may be required depending on location. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within six weeks of employment and re-certification as necessary is required.
