Job Details

Position Description:
The Media Relations Coordinator plays a role on the University Relations team to promote NDSU by working with local, regional, and national media. The Coordinator actively pursues regional and national attention to the student focused, land grant, and research stories of NDSU , partners with areas across campus to identify and achieve coverage to support institutional priorities, responds to media inquiries, and cultivates credible long-term relationships with media representatives.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in journalism, communication, English or related
  • 3 to 5 years recent, relevant experience in media relations, showing knowledge of media operations
  • Demonstrated experience in clear, concise and persuasive writing for print
  • Computer skills
  • Good oral and interpersonal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute to team goals and support unit goals

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 5+ years recent, relevant experience in media or media relations
