JOB SUMMARY

Responsibilities include phlebotomy, collecting, preparing and processing specimens biological specimens.
Assists in performing laboratory activities and other assigned tasks. Aids in preparing laboratory specimens and supplies. May be responsible for entering laboratory orders and results. Ensures the accuracy and quality of laboratory data in a safe and professional work environment.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Participates in collecting and processing specimens (e.g. blood) according to test requests. Maintains cleanliness or sterilization of self and objects in order to prevent infections. Follows pre-established patient safety guidelines. Displays strong personal commitment to organizational success, inspiring others to commit to shared goals. Demonstrates an understanding of the underlying concepts and values of a service organization. Adheres to relevant policies and ethics for clinical laboratory testing. Adheres to established internal standards and procedures abstracted from Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).

DEPARTMENT DETAILS

This is a full time position of 80 hours per two week pay period working between the hours of 7:30 am and 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday at our 69th and Minnesota location. NO weekends, NO holidays.

QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or General Educational Development Diploma (GED) required.
Completion of a formal phlebotomy program, phlebotomy experience, and experience in a laboratory-related field preferred. May be required to have Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
