JOB SUMMARY

The Senior IT Project Manager for Profile by Sanford applies advanced knowledge and experience to complex, high-risk, high-cost projects.
Works independently with minimal direction on day-to-day work. Determines own methods and approaches to work; establishes work priorities and timelines for own work, as well as project team. Projects often require problem resolution for unique challenges and require generation of solutions that look beyond the immediate problem to wider implications. Builds professional networks and identifies and connects resources to solve issues and achieve goals. Serves as a resource for leadership and stakeholders, as well as a mentor to project team.
Provides leadership for project teams and delivers project(s) that span across one or more business units, or includes one major or several minor initiatives simultaneously. Manages resources, schedules, financials and adheres to quality and control guidelines throughout the full project management life cycle, including creating, managing and updating timelines, budgets, resources, vendors, and key project deliverables from project initiation to close out. Assesses project risks, proposes resolutions, manages change requests, and tracks implementation of resolution through to completion to ensure successful and on-time project delivery. Verifies that the project achieves the proposed benefits defined in the business case.
The Senior Project Manager has authority over the project and assumes responsibility for projects. Contributes to process improvement initiatives as it relates to improving project delivery. Serves as change agent, influencing stakeholders and project deliverables to change organizational culture and processes. Presents project proposals, updates, and outcomes to senior leadership. Requires strong background in Visio, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Office suite.
According to team and organizational needs, may perform project manager duties.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Document specifications provided by the project stakeholders
  • Implement software life-cycle methodology
  • Develop and maintain information technology plans which outline project status individual tasks, milestones, completion estimates, and resource allocation
  • Coordinate roll-out of beta and production releases
  • Inspect projects for quality assurance
  • Ensure customer satisfaction through post-project debrief with clients
  • Document all estimates, project statuses, and project completion paperwork
  • Work with technical team to brainstorm new test ideas for technical projects

Requirements and Qualifications
  • Certification in project management
  • Computer proficiency in applications such as SharePoint, Microsoft Office and Microsoft DevOps/VSTS.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Analytical, critical thinking, and problem solving skills
  • Business strategy aptitude
  • Decision-making and leadership skills

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Achieves influence and impact even when holding a position contrary to the majority.;Negotiate with project stakeholders or suppliers to obtain resources or materials.;Conducts regular and ad-hoc project reviews with project team, sponsors, and clients.;Submit project deliverables, ensuring adherence to quality standards.;Documents project meetings, particularly status reports on deliverables and next steps.;Initiate, review, or approve modifications to project plans.;Identifies risks and vulnerabilities; creates contingency plans.;Prepare project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.;Plans, estimates, staffs, organizes and monitors significant projects.;Manages multiple high-risk, high-cost projects involving multiple stakeholders.;

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree required.
Five years' experience managing full lifecycle projects desired. Previous experience working with business stakeholders in a cross-functional matrix environment required. Advanced working knowledge with project management software and Microsoft Office required.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent advanced training in project management required.
Depending on area, may require valid driver's license.
