Job Details
The Rice Hospital Willmar Ambulance employee shall function as a
member of the medical care team in providing patient care and a safe transport environment in an ambulance. All employees are team members and share the responsibility for the delivery of highly competent, basic life support emergency medical care and treatment to all individuals. They w ill be expected to conduct themselves in a professional and courteous manner at all t imes.
• JOB RELATIONSHIPS:
A. REPORTS TO: Emergency Services Director and Operations Manager Rice Hospital Willmar Ambulance Service.
B. SUPERVISES: None
C. INTERRELATIONSHIPS WITH: Emergency Services medical, nursing and
support staff. Paramedics, Police Department, Rescue Squads and other emergency response personnel, Medical Director.
• HOURS OF WORK: Variable on call.
• DRESS CODE: Per approved service dress code stated in Ambulance P&P book.
Facial hair which would interfere w ith a sealing mask is not permitted.
• ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS OF WORK (Minimum qualifications necessary to function
at full productivity).
A. EDUCATION AND TRAINING: 1. High school diploma or equivalent 2. Current State and National Registry EMT-B cert if icat ion. 3. Must possess and maintain a valid MN state driver's license 4. Driver's motor vehicle record must meet requirements set forth in
Personnel Policy Handbook.
B. EXPERIENCE: Previous EMT experience preferred.
C. JOB KNOWLEDGE (Specific): Working know ledge of EMT skills, ability to maintain an effect ive working relat ionship w ith patients, public, peers and supervisory personnel. Writ ing and spelling skills appropriate for complet ion of patient charts and other required forms.
• BUDGET: None
• CLIENTELE DIRECTLY AFFECTED BY JOB: Patients in our service area and, as
requested, other service areas.
• PHYSICAL DEMANDS OF THE JOB: Sustained physical effort, standing, sit t ing,
stooping, lif t ing, pushing, pulling and climbing. Must be able to perform the follow ing essential functions of the job and have the ability to lif t w ithout assistance a minimum of 100 pounds.
A. Lif t and carry medical equipment as necessary to deliver emergency care to
patients. B. Lif t and carry ill and/or injured patients as w ell as pushing and pulling of
stretcher. C.
