Job Information

The Lean Promotions Agent is a lean practitioner, and as such is responsible for eliminating waste and improving business efficiency through the execution & promotion of lean methodologies & tools. This position administers the Yellow Belt certification program so that those trained and certified are more able to effectively solve problems in their daily work using Kaizen as a structure.

This position is aligned with the needs of the business in order to address the most important issues with the highest impact to the organization.

Role & Responsibility

Lean Six Sigma Strategy
  • Active role in developing, communicating, and implementing the NAO LSS strategy


Lean Promotions
  • Active role in setting the site Kaizen plan to attack highest impact projects in alignment with site lead
  • Lead your own site projects that have high potential returns and major process improvements


Project Completion
  • Lead the most important cross-functional projects that have high potential returns and major process improvements, and are tied to key strategic initiatives for the organization
  • Accurate analysis of financial impact of project and Kaizen savings that can be supported by site controllers


LSS Training
  • Execute a Yellow Belt training strategy to build competencies in the use of LSS processes and tools in the NAO region
  • Lead, co-lead Yellow Belt training
  • Ensure on-going proper use of tools through training and recertification
  • Identify and execute training and tool improvements to improve Kaizen, project, and belt quality and efficiency


Job Requirement

  • Yellow Belt of equivalent required within first year of hire; Green Belt or equivalent preferred.
  • Strong demonstrated ability to influence
  • Ability to work at with levels of the company
  • Strong process orientation to develop solutions to complex problems
  • Demonstrated knowledge and practice of Lean Six Sigma
  • Ability to train in LSS process/tools (YB min)
  • 2-5 years’ experience
  • Education: Associates Degree (Allow Equivalent)
  • Manufacturing experience is required. Experience in value stream mapping, prior use and understanding of Kaizen events and tools, Lean and Six Sigma implementation on the shop floor.
  • Demonstrated strong analytical competency
  • Demonstrated ability to execute in a timely manner
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple projects and demands
  • Prior experience with manufacturing processes


Others

  • Being part of a remote team with peers at different sites and/or different states
  • Gaining buy-in from frontline staff to make needed changes
  • Securing appropriate focus from a diverse group of part-time team members
  • Completing Kaizens and projects thoroughly (proper analysis), but as quickly as possible
  • Securing adequate attendance in belt training
  • Gaining buy-in from functional leaders to strengthen team belt competencies
  • Allocating resources only to high impact projects

What skills, education, and experiences does your ideal candidate(s) have?

•Education Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent
•These are entry level opportunities
•Must be able to follow established methods and procedures and perform work accordingly. Must have the ability to work rapidly and under time pressure for extended periods of time in order to meet build requirements. Must possess the ability to read build sheets and blueprints.
•The ability to communicate with supervisors and fellow workers in both written and verbal forms at a level normally acquired through the completion of a high school diploma or GED is required.
•Job specific skills, techniques and safe work and equipment operating practices are learned through on-the-job and classroom training. General instructions are given on recurring duties, operations and assignments; detailed instructions are given on new duties, operations and assignments.
