Job Details
The Diagnostic Radiology Technologist demonstrates and understands the scope of responsibility within their license. This position confirms and reviews orders, properly identifies the patient and appropriately completes processes for image interpretations.
Essential Job Functions
Title and Description
Tech - CR/DR
Demonstrates understanding of Computer Radiology (CR) principles and Digital Radiography (DR) principles, selects proper technical factors and operated equipment to produce quality radiographs, utilizing all radiation safety devices.
Tech Branch - Physician Orders
Confirms physician orders and reviews all required clinical information prior to performing exams and applying ionizing radiation. Communicates information which may alter the exam protocol.
Tech - Images
Reviews images for quality and completeness according to standard operating procedures and provider's preference, i.e., proper labeling, collimation, etc.
CT - Education
Provides the patient and family with appropriate education to optimize their understanding within scope of responsibility.
Tech - Education
Provides individualized patient care and comfort essential to the procedure as well as provides the patient and family with appropriate education to optimize their understanding within scope of responsibility. Monitors patient for comfort and safety.
Tech - Processes
Ensures prior images are available and completes all Epic Processes.
Pain Assessment
Performs pain assessment and takes appropriate action according to standard operating procedure.
Other Duties
Performs other duties as assigned or needed to meet the needs of the department/organization.
Demonstrates understanding and follows infection control policies and procedures according to standard operating procedure. Maintains requirements for age specific competencies for the position and demonstrates the knowledge or principles of growth and developments and the skills necessary to provide patient/customer care/services.
