JOB SUMMARY

Responsible of the development of projects, strategies and business ventures for revenue cycle. Apply advanced technical knowledge of revenue cycle activities, along with external market practices to solve highly complex challenges. Manage and oversee all business-related functions of the patient visit, from initial contact into the enterprise through collections. Ensure maximization of revenue and cash flow, while maintaining the highest levels of patient, physician, employee and other customer relations. Responsible for the standardization of policies and procedures, enhancement of workflows with a focus on automation and efficiency, oversight of applications and process training, and monitoring of revenue cycle key performance indicators across the entire spectrum. Coordinate with all facilities personnel to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of scheduling, registration, pre-verification activities, charge capture, coding, charge entry, claims submission, accounts receivable follow-up, account adjudication and reporting. Must demonstrate extensive knowledge of third-party and insurance company operating procedures, regulations and billing requirements, and government reimbursement programs. Must be experienced in medical information systems for registration, scheduling, billing and accounts receivable, spreadsheets, reporting applications, medical terminology and coding. Proactively analyze and resolve potential bottlenecks that may negatively affect reimbursement and accounts receivable. Must demonstrate success in yielding significant results in improving patient accounts receivable.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Leads communications campaigns to promote awareness of key customer support issues. Persuasively articulates the link between customer focus and enhanced business success to stakeholders. Champions behaviors that inspire cohesiveness and move the organization to reach a vision. Anticipates the major needs and expectations of customers in the insurance company. Leads in the establishment of best practices for reimbursement processing within the organization. Removes obstacles and barriers to process improvement. Establishes and maintains effective working relationship with each team member. Communicates well downward, upward, and outward. Consults others on managing enterprise-wide accounts receivable activities.

DEPARTMENT DETAILS

The Vice President of Revenue Cycle provides leadership to the Senior Directors supporting the areas of Health Information Management (HIM), Patient Financial Services, Coding, Provider Practice, Revenue Integrity, Patient Accounts and Patient Access.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, accounting or a related field required. Master's degree in a related field preferred.
Minimum of seven years of experience in facility and professional revenue cycle operations, and at least five years of experience in a leadership role required. Experience managing admissions, patient registration, time of service collections, charge entry functions in an enterprise setting and revenue cycle operations through a system conversion preferred.
