Hiring Department:  Center for Rural Health, School of Medicine and Health Sciences Hiring Salary Range/Position Status:   $36,000 + / year (based on qualifications and experience).  This is a full-time, benefited, non-exempt position.
Benefits: Includes single or family health care coverage (premiums paid for by the university), basic life insurance, EAP, retirement plan, tuition waiver, annual and sick leave.  Optional benefits available: supplemental life, dental, vision, flexible spending account, supplemental retirement plans. Work Schedule:  Monday - Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.  Working from home or remotely is not an available option for this position. Position Details
:    A complete Position Description is available as an attachment in the bottom right corner of this position announcement. The Center for Rural Health (CRH) at the University of North Dakota is seeking experienced and talented applicants for the position of Administrative Assistant.  This provides administrative and project support for the Rural Health Information Hub (https://www.ruralhealthinfo.org), a federally-funded national information center focusing on rural health issues, as well as support for additional projects at the Center for Rural Health.  The position is primarily grant funded. Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform program support actitivities.
  • Assist in entering information in to program databases and websites.
  • Manage special project assignments.
  • Perform quality assurance activities.


Competencies Required

The ideal candidate for this position will have:

  • Strong word processing skills to include ability to accurately type, proof, edit, and format reports and manuscripts. 
  • Substantial knowledge of office processes and procedures. 
  • Proficiency at making travel arrangements, i.e., experience booking work-related travel as a routine part of the job.
  • Experience maintaining schedules and calendars.
  • Experience coordinating and arranging meetings of all types; this includes working with both internal and external partners to assist with the planning and scheduling of events.
  • Experience completing business-related forms and paperwork.

 
Additionally, the ideal candidate for this position must demonstrate:

  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • An aptitude to quickly learn and use new software applications or technologies.
  • The ability to collaborate effectively with project staff to meet shared goals and be dedicated to quality work.  
  • Must possess excellent organizational skills.
  • A high level of accuracy and attention-to-detail.
  • Good critical thinking skills; as well as the ability to plan, execute, and complete projects.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, meeting deadlines and achieving timely work products.
  • An emphasis will be placed on candidate’s ability prioritize, multi-task, take initiative, and to work both independently and as a part of a team.

Minimum Requirements
:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Four years of work experience in an administrative support position in an office setting.
  • Experience using computers, specifically with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Internet usage.
  • Must provide short statement in cover letter that establishes individual’s specialized knowledge of administrative/office processes.
  • In addition to on-line application, applicants must submit a formal resume and cover letter including statement required in fourth bullet above.
  • Successful completion of Criminal History Background Check.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree in office occupations, business, information management or similar.
  • Grant project and budget experience.
  • Experience with UND policies and procedures (travel, payments including P-card, procurement).
  • PeopleSoft Finance and Perceptive Content experience.
  • Valid driver’s license.
