JOB SUMMARY

Contribute to Sanford operations and processes while obtaining first hand experiences that align with the mission, vision, and values of the organization. This Leadership, Education, and Development intern will be working with clinical educators to support the education for a large-scale (approximately 10,000 employees) strategic initiative as well as department daily functioning. This intern will be able to refine his/her organizational skills, work with Excel spreadsheets, experience different learning environments, paying attention to details that may be missed when planning education, and/or data entry with possible analysis. Other activities may include but are not limited to Share Point revisions, coordination of orientation schedules, competency validation coordination, and quality improvement activities.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Demonstrates a basic understanding of organizational project management practices and tools. Researches business related data and generates and interprets basic analytics. Collaborates with departmental associates and management.

DEPARTMENT DETAILS

Other activities may include but are not limited to Share Point revisions, coordination of orientation schedules, competency validation coordination, and quality improvement activities. Internship responsibilities include: coordination of a large scale educational strategic initiative, 1-on-1 mentor sessions, attending and leading meetings related to assigned projects, work independently on assigned projects seeking mentor support as needed, observe day-to-day operations in the LEAD Center to identify opportunities for increased efficiency, support clinical education needs as appropriate, and reprioritize projects based on changes in organizational needs.

QUALIFICATIONS

Must be a junior or senior pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Business Administration, Healthcare Management/Administration, Communication, Management, Management Communication, Management Information Systems, Sociology, Strategic Communication, Public Relations, or other degree field with emphasis on project management, communication, systems thinking, and strategic planning or an immediate graduate having received one of the previously listed majors.High levels of personal organization and efficiency with the ability to support individuals and teams to enhance their organization and efficiency. Ability to critically think, be flexible, work independently, and re-prioritize tasks as needed. Must be able to commit to the hours scheduled during the 12-week internship. Strong Communication skills and proficient in Microsoft office Suite.
Knowledge of healthcare industry preferred. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
