Description

Edgewood is excited to announce the opening of our next Executive Director in Training (EDIT) position! This person will office out of our Edgewood community in Grand Forks, ND for the duration of this 12-month probationary program. In this role the EDIT will gain experience and develop skills and competences, while meeting eligibility requirements for benefits and receiving a full salary. 

In this time frame the EDIT will receive a well-rounded experience touching on all departments of Edgewood; they will become familiar with everything from Dining Services, to Marketing, to Environmental Services, and everything in-between. Observation, participation in daily operations alongside staff, and completion of special projects assigned by the Executive Director are only a few ways that will assist their learning experience. The EDIT will work closely with an established team to learn the ins and outs of Edgewood culture.

Although this position will be based out of Grand Forks, additional training will occur in key communities throughout the company that will exemplify Edgewood’s commitment to the Standards of Excellence and Core Cultural Values that assure quality care and value for our customers. Upon completion of this program a unique leadership style will be identifiable, and the EDIT will be ready to put it to good use in a leadership role.

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Hospitality Management, Business, or related field preferred
  • Availability to apply time and effort necessary to complete 12-month internship
  • Ability to travel to key Edgewood communities as appropriate
  • Work independently with minimal supervision 
  • Relate positively and professionally with residents, families and staff in a variety of Edgewood settings 
  • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Possess a passion and commitment for working with seniors 
  • Ability to locate to appropriate site within Edgewood in a leadership role at the completion of the internship
