Scope:

• Responsible for providing safe and effective instruction of all cardiovascular and weight training equipment. Facilitate Wellness classes that enhance independence and maintain or improve functional levels to provide a better quality of life for the customer. • Prepare for wellness classes by planning class content and setting up for class. Research class content, rotate exercises, and implement new content to add variety. Organized for class prior to start and welcomes participants. Put away all equipment at conclusion of class. Facilitate group exercise classes, assist with quarterly assessments and celebrations. • Seek, recommend and or implement new methods and mean of providing quality service. Continually seek ways to network and grow the Wellness Department, its programs and memberships. Attend and actively participate in wellness team meetings. Complete annual online education modules. Build and maintain relationships with wellness staff and staff in other departments.

Education and Experience Required:

• Requires a high school education or higher. Fitness certificate and/or fitness degree preferred. CPR and first aid certificate preferred. • Experience in a recreational fitness setting and understanding of strength and cardiovascular exercise equipment. • Ability to demonstrate skills in planning, organizing, prioritizing and using computer programs. • Must have a passion for working with the older adult and special needs populations. • Must complete and pass a state required background study. • Able to physically perform the duties required by the position. • Required to have the ability to read, write and speak English well enough to communicate with staff, residents and visitors.
