Position Overview

Digi-Key Electronics is seeking a goal-oriented individualto join our Shipping and Logistics team! The primary focus of this position isto provide an exciting real-world experience at a thriving company, forstudents approaching their Senior year of college. Digi-Key's Shipping andLogistics team specializes in order management, consolidation of shipments, andinteracting with carriers, and this program offers a multifaceted approach forgaining insight into what Digi-Key has to offer. The Shipping and Logisticsteam cares deeply about same day shipping for customers world-wide. Must be able to...
  • Multi-ship consolidation data management
  • Shipping process improvement
  • Public relations with carriers UPS, USPS, FedEx and DHL
  • Mapping out all outbound trucks and flights
  • A head to toe inspection of the carrier online systems
  • Cross-training into Logistics a nd other pertinent departments
  • Work with the quality department to establish an error shipping report
Other Typical Tasks...
  • Working in shipping processing stations
  • Attended and conduct shipping improvement meetings

Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Minimum/Essential Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Must currently be attending school for Business Management, Supply Chain Management, Logistics Transpiration Management or Supply Chain Management
  • Able to twist or bend and occasionally climb stairs
  • Able to reach with hands and arms above shoulder level
  • Spend the majority of working hours walking/standing on concrete
  • Regularly lift up to 35 lbs. and occasionally lift up to 50lbs from floor to shoulder height
  • Generally, spend the workday performing repetitive motions that involve or affect the hands, head, and other parts of your body
