Human Resources Director - Corporate Office - Fargo, ND

  • Responsibility:
    •Establishes and implements short- and long-range departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures.
    •Recommends workforce planning, talent acquisition, and retention strategies to accomplish company goals and objectives.
    •Oversees compensation strategy and direction.
    •Evaluates procedures and technology solutions to improve human resources data management.
    •Recommends work flow changes and improvements in the efficiencies of department and services provided.
    •Analyzes programs and processes to determine ways to improve employee retention, increase employee engagement, improve systems, better our communications, and help affect the bottom line.
    •Recommends course of action for supervisors and managers for dealing with employee relations procedures.
    •Maintains knowledge of employment legislation and laws
    •Ensures Butler Machinery is in compliance with all HR laws and regulations.
    •Oversees affirmative action program initiatives and serves as EEO Officer.
    •Manages union labor relations and serves as a company representative at Union contract negations.
    •Involved in selection team for key company positions
    •Works with supervisors in gaining a working knowledge of employment laws and processes and how to best adhere to them.
    •Monitors, evaluates and participates in the development of the performance appraisal program.
    •Evaluates the effectiveness and competitiveness of pension, health insurance and other benefit programs.
    •Project lead on HR related activities involved in company acquisitions and new location start-ups.
    •Representative on the Butler Machinery Benefit Committee
    •Evaluates new hire on-boarding programs and procedures.
    •Oversees recruiting and training programs with various colleges and universities
    •Works within and promotes vision, mission, and values of BMC.
    •Performs other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications
    •Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or other business related field plus 10+ years of human resource experience. Supervisory experience required.
    •SPHR and SHRM-SCP Certification Preferred.
