Shape the future of American higher education by joining Concordia College and serving in the role of Deputy to the President. This position will serve as the President’s ambassador in interactions with key internal and external constituencies including the Board of Regents. Will serve as an extension of the President by providing support to key stakeholders, serving as a trusted advisor and resource through effective communication and collaboration.

The optimal person for this role brings the combination of strong business and marketing acumen, disciplined process orientation and analytic mindset to drive transformation, and vigorous investment in relationships to inspire action in support of the College’s mission, vision and strategic plan.

Key responsibilities include:
• Working closely with the President and the cabinet on both strategic projects as well as the tactical execution of the college’s strategic agenda to accomplish objectives.
• Representing the president with regional leaders in business, education, and community life when the president cannot be engage himself.
• Positioning Concordia as an institution in America higher education to the broader community.
• Communicating with present and past members of the Board of Regents inspiring trust and confidence for action.
• Serving as a contributing member to President’s Cabinet.


Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree plus 10 years of related experience, or by equivalent education and experience.

Strong communication skills with the ability to write clearly and succinctly. Must be able to communicate effectively with senior leadership and other audiences and stakeholders. Ability to quickly build trust in relationships. Can present articulately and persuasively to individuals or groups that inspires action.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to anticipate, improvise, and adapt for optimal resolutions. Must have the ability orchestrate multiple activities to accomplish goals.

Ability to exercise judgment in and relaying matters as appropriate to the President. Must be able to interact comfortably with senior executives and craft approaches likely to be appropriate and positive.

Adaptive leadership style to meet the needs for Concordia. Must be able to inspire and empower team to commit to a change or challenge. It is critical to have a passion for the work, the college, and people.

• Ability to form and maintain strong collaborative partnerships with executive leadership, Board of Regents, donors, organizational partners and other strategic stakeholders.
• Results-oriented with proven ability to manage multiple projects.
• Able to successfully navigate within varying degrees of ambiguity.
• Ability to exercise discretion, sound judgment and the highest professional ethics.

Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree.
