Status: Full-time, FLSA exempt, full benefits package

Minimum Qualifications This position requires a juris doctorate degree and a North Dakota license to practice law at the time of hire; knowledge of effectively working with the legal process, rules, various types of clients, governmental and court officials, the public; and use of computer software. Ongoing education is required. Applicants will be subject to a post offer criminal background check. 

Essential Position Tasks Provide legal services in various court actions. Prepare files for court proceedings and hearings. Present evidence and arguments in various levels of court system. 

Review criminal investigations, charge violations of law, meet and interview witnesses, identify need for subpoenas, coordinate with law enforcement personnel, and work with defense attorneys. 

Prepare and type charges, orders, motions, and legal briefs. Calculate restitution figures for crime victims. 

Perform other duties as assigned or apparent.

Applicants who are residents of North Dakota and desire to claim veterans’ preference must include a Form DD 214.
