Customer Service Representative / Billing Specialist

This individual is responsible for providing effective customer service for internal and external Nodak Insurance Company customers by utilizing excellent in-depth knowledge of company products and billing systems within the Customer Service Department. 

PRIMARY DUTIES:

• Works with checks, EFTs, on-line payments, and credit cards and applies them to all types of policies.
• Corresponds with customers and agents on service or billing issues by phone, email, or through the mail.
• Generates refund requests.
• Processes miscellaneous adjustments (transfers money and adjusts accounts receivables).
• Processes reinstates, manual renewals and payment plan changes.
• Assigns Client ID and policy number to new applications on all lines of business.
• Backs up Switchboard.
• Investigates money lists (from IS) to determine what needs to be done. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Two-year college or technical school with business related courses and accounting background; or equivalent business/work experience.
• Excellent interpersonal and telephone communication skills.
• Customer service mindset and ability to multi-task.
• Problem solving skills. Excellent computer skills.
