Hiring Department:  Marketing & Creative Services

Minimum Hiring Salary/Position Classification:  $50,000/Annual, Full-Time, Benefited, Exempt
Benefits: Includes single or family health care coverage (premiums paid for by the university), basic life insurance, EAP, retirement plan, tuition waiver, annual and sick leave.  Optional benefits available: supplemental life, dental, vision, flexible spending account, supplemental retirement plans.
Work Schedule:  Monday-Friday, 8:00- am-4:30 pm

Position Details:

• Use data and knowledge of industry best-practices to build a vision and strategy to enhance website user experience, with a focus on increasing usability and accessibility, positively showcase the UND brand, and preserving web standards.
• Work closely with offices and departments to edit existing content and generate new content that is more effective, more inviting and more engaging for users, particularly prospective students.
• Create and maintain original content (i.e. copy, photography, video) for top level web pages that performs well in search and promotes calls to action.
• Ensure best practices are upheld throughout the website as relates to accessibility compliance, content readability, page speed, usability, and AP style.
• Develop, implement and continually evaluate current web policies, processes, and recommend changes when necessary. 
• Provide top-level quality assurance and quality control for the public website.
• Facilitate training for content developers by hosting group training workshops, offering individual training sessions, and corresponding with them via phone and email. 
• Create and maintain support documentation for content developers.
• Answer support tickets and troubleshoot issues.
• Administer user accounts, access groups and web space.
• Use data to inform content developers of web effectiveness and recommend areas for improvement.
• Serve as resource and advocate for applicable web, marketing and branding guidelines.
• Project manage the development of new websites and implementation of new third-party web systems. Communicate with stakeholders, schedule meetings, assign tasks, develop timelines, assess risks, and ensure projects meet deadlines.
• Analyze third-party tools and provide recommendations to supervisor and additional responsible parties.
• Oversee UND’s digital analytics by creating custom reports and campaigns, reporting data, providing insights, and making recommendations for improvement.
• Implement standard reporting and prepare monthly updates that summarize digital performance and engagement.
• Assist with the social media and digital marketing strategy.

  • Excellent editorial and writing skills (grammar, spelling, proofreading, and punctuation). Fluency in writing and editing copy plainly and clearly for websites, and a demonstrated ability to translate complex, complicated language into compelling content for diverse, non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to prioritize projects, handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines with accuracy in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a calm and professional demeanor.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or related field.
  • Three years of professional work experience.
  • Experience with website design/management and the tools and techniques used to create effective, well-organized, user-focused websites.
  • Successful completion of criminal history background check.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • HTML experience.
  • Experience with a content management system or blog.
  • Basic video editing experience.
  • Experience with AP Style.
  • Experience with graphics software, including Photoshop.
  • Experience with web analytics and reporting.
  • Experience working with various search engine optimization techniques.
