Minimum Hiring Salary/Position Classification: $70,000.00+/Annual, Full-Time, Benefited
Benefits: Includes single or family health care coverage (premiums paid for by the university), basic life insurance, EAP, retirement plan, tuition waiver, annual and sick leave.  Optional benefits available: supplemental life, dental, vision,  flexible spending account, supplemental retirement plans.
Work Schedule:  Monday-Friday, 8:00 am-4:30 pm

Position Summary
:

The successful candidate will be responsible for helping to develop, review, organize, and support various military-friendly efforts across campus. The person in this position would help to consolidate ROTC program services, veteran and military student services, and the various military-affiliated agreements across campus. The successful candidate would continue to ensure that UND is a military- friendly campus for both on ground and online students across the nation.

The director will have the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Veteran Student Services, including but not limited to:
    • oversight of veteran student services, including courses/credits allowable for military education benefits;
    • collaboration with online programs to build veteran and active duty online academic advising;
    • collaboration with RO to ensure accurate and timely processing of military education benefits;
    • collaboration with colleges and core advisors to ensure veterans and military students are advised appropriately; and
    • supervision of Veterans student services staff
  • UND Military Friendly services, including but not limited to:
    • serving as a contact person for AU-ABC affiliate with the Air Force;
    • upkeep of articulation agreements among programs included in AU-ABC agreements;
    • serving  as contact person for GEM affiliation with Air Force;
    • serving as military/veteran contact for WICHE interstate passport efforts with Community College of the Air Force;
    • increasing awareness among Air Force availability of WICHE passport, AU-ABC, and GEM programs;
    • investigating other educational opportunities among other military branches;
    • working with colleges and UND Registrar's Office to develop and maintain transfer credit equivalencies
    • oversight of military-friendly trainings/opportunities for UND faculty, staff, and students; and
    • acting as UND military-friendly representative
  • ROTC programs director, including but not limited to:
    • serving as UND contact for Army ROTC and Air Force ROTC;
    • working to establish Navy ROTC program; and
    • providing supervision for all ROTC programs at UND

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in any field
  • Experience working in higher education
  • Experience working with military/veteran students
  • Experience supervising full time staff
  • Experience with curriculum
  • Experience with military and veteran educational benefits
  • Successful Completion of a Criminal History Background Check

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced Degree in higher education or related field
  • Prior military experience
