Job Summary

The Aircraft Maintenance Technician (AMT) provides direct support to the safety of the Altru Care Flight operation by conducting and overseeing the general and preventative maintenance on the aircraft. The AMT will be responsible to ensure all performed aircraft maintenance is in compliance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and manufacturer airworthiness standards, approved company operations specifications, and all applicable company policies and procedures.

Essential Job Functions

Performs and oversees the third party performance of maintenance on company aircraft. Ensures all performed maintenance on the aircraft, whether by self or third party, is in compliance with FAA and manufacturer airworthiness standards, approved company operations specifications, and all applicable company policies and procedures. Completes and maintains all aircraft maintenance records to established FAA and company standards and time requirements. Ensures safety is the primary focus of all work performed.

Responds timely to maintenance events and requests for inspection by crew or program management. On call availability to support flight operations as established with management. Ensures that intervention or referrals are made promptly. Completes and submits all incident reports (equipment, vendor, staff) timely

Demonstrates ongoing competency in the use and routine maintenance of all company assigned tooling. Maintains requirements for specific competencies for the position and demonstrates the knowledge or principles of growth and developments and the skills necessary to provide patient/customer care/services.

Participates in company meetings, ongoing education, airframe/powerplant specific training, and other management directed training as required. Serves as an educational and training resource to company management and crew members. Establishes and maintains communication and utilizes educational opportunities with company staff and other significant individuals.

Performs other duties as assigned or needed to meet the needs of the department/organization.

  • Demonstrates understanding and follows infection control policies and procedures according to standard operating procedure.
  • Maintains requirements for age specific competencies for the position and demonstrates the knowledge or principles of growth and developments and the skills necessary to provide patient/customer care/services.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of and compliance with:
    • All pertinent safety, health and environmental policies, procedures and guidelines.
    • Working safely, without causing harm or risk to self, others or property.
    • The work environment safety procedures and prompt reporting of unsafe practices, procedures, accidents, injuries or other safety violations to the Leader.
    • The use of all safety equipment and personal protective equipment.
