JOB SUMMARY

A copywriter with a digital-first mentality, responsible for creating marketing and communications solutions by building strategy around goals and generating creative concepts and writing to meet those goals. Writes or edits copy for sanfordhealth.org and affiliated websites, digital advertisements and marketing emails. Works with digital team to produce on-page SEO (search engine optimization). These concepts should effectively connect with Sanford Health's target audiences and create strong relationships with patients and the public supporting the Sanford brand. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with a wide variety of people. Ability to work closely with various health system personnel. Although not required, experience in a health care field is desired. Writing experience is necessary. Works in close collaboration with the Web Development Manager and the Digital Marketing team. Leverages past experience, digital marketing technologies and best practices to increase the reach and performance of Sanford's online marketing efforts. Proficient in computer software applications (i.e. Microsoft Word, Sitecore or other content management system) and possesses experience with AP style. Possesses flexibility to prioritize and manage multiple projects at once. Possesses strong creative and problem solving skills, an eye for detail, and good visual and verbal communications. Possesses an open-mindedness to accept new strategies in an ever-changing digital marketing environment.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Develops alternative techniques for assessing accuracy and relevance of information. Responds to day-to-day operational priorities while still making progress on project work. Communicates well upward and outward. Adjusts to new or changing assignments, processes, and people. Processes large quantities of detailed information with high levels of accuracy. Prepare, rewrite and edit copy to improve readability, or supervise others who do this work. Optimize Web site exposure by analyzing search engine patterns to direct online placement of keywords or other content. Optimize digital assets, such as text, graphics, or multimedia assets, for search engine optimization (SEO) or for display and usability on internet-connected devices.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's in mass communication, English, journalism, writing/rhetoric, creative writing, or related field is required.
Minimum of two years of writing experience is preferred.
