JOB SUMMARY

Assists nursing personnel with a variety of patient care activities and related services necessary in caring for the personal needs and comfort of patients. Performs under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), or licensed health care professionals. Complies with all patient duties assigned with in scope of practice. The Care Team Associate serves as caregiver to the patient during the scheduled work period. Administer delegated tasks and treatments. Record vital statistics and gather other basic health information. Provide assistance with basic health care needs including rooming patients, and assist with treatment procedures. Will collect non-invasive biological specimens from patients as needed. Prepare patient treatment areas for use; prepare and clean medical equipment; dispose of biomedical waste in accordance with standards and policy. Clean and maintain patient care area(s) or treatment rooms. Monitors stock levels of medical inventory and restocks or reorders as needed. Perform clerical work related to scheduling and documenting patient healthcare. Work patient registries and identify opportunities to improve patient care.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Follows direction in relation to the time and effort needed to achieve work objectives. Enters patient information and medical data into record keeping software ensures the completeness and accuracy of medical records. Completes tasks and inspires confidence in leaders by demonstrating honesty and integrity. Adheres to legal regulations and organizational policies when discussing patient health information. Responsible for promoting a safe environment for patients, families, staff, residents, and visitors and working collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary health care team to provide the best outcomes for patients. Performs routine cleaning and disinfecting tasks in certain areas of a healthcare organization.

QUALIFICATIONS

High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) is required. Minimum of six month's experience in a clinic setting preferred. Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate required. Must obtain within 60 days of hire. Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications. If working in North Dakota (ND) or Minnesota (MN) and not a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), must be registered as an Unlicensed Assistive Person (UAP) through the Department of Health within four months from date of hire.
