The Access Control Analyst is responsible for the analysis, design, and deployment of the physical access control for employees, volunteers, and contractors within existing and new applications utilizing access management solutions and Genetec platforms. This position maintains, monitors, and supports access control, video surveillance, audits door alarms, and works with cross-functional teams across Altru Health System to support the assessment of new security technologies.This position is responsible for working with the Safety & Security Manager to develop layers of access, reports for security sensitive areas, monitor burglar and door alarms, and evaluate the effectiveness of other physical security measures.

Essential Job Functions
Builds, maintains, and manages the physical security systems, including the electronic access control system and building key management program. Monitors alarm systems and initiates investigations and action as needed.

Troubleshoots and resolves issues and problems that develop with the access control system and monitors Access Control modules through remote access on a 24/7 basis to solve critical issues.

Works closely with the Safety & Security Manager, administrators, and other leaders to continuously review and revise access control policies to maintain secure buildings and grounds.

Oversees and monitors physical security measures for effectiveness including developing plans to review lists of active ID badges for appropriate levels of access.

Coordinates with Human Resources to edit, design, replace and manufacture identification badges for employees, contractors, vendors, locums and others working in Altru Health System locations.

Works with vendors to coordinate the installation security technologies and configures and designs the various network interfaces. Coordinates the security technology installation on construction projects.

Trains contracted security staff and other facilities personnel on the key emergency functions and operations of the access control system. Trains appropriate staff on the operation of various security technologies (panic alarms, lockdown functions, video camera use, etc.).

Assists in conducting and evaluating all drills and emergency exercises.

Performs other duties as assigned or needed to meet the needs of the department/organization.

Demonstrates understanding and follows infection control policies and procedures according to standard operating procedure.
  • Maintains requirements for age specific competencies for the position and demonstrates the knowledge or principles of growth and developments and the skills necessary to provide patient/customer care/services.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of and compliance with:
    • All pertinent safety, health and environmental policies, procedures and guidelines.
    • Working safely, without causing harm or risk to self, others or property.
    • The work environment safety procedures and prompt reporting of unsafe practices, procedures, accidents, injuries or other safety violations to the Leader.
    • The use of all safety equipment and personal protective equipment.
  • Requirements: Bachelors degree in Criminal Justice, Information Systems or related field;
    Security Center 5.x Omnicast Technical Certification and Security Center 5.x Synergis Technical Certification within 2 months of start date; demonstrates ability to process complex instructions translating into logical problem-solving steps; demonstrates proficient computer skills with a high degree of accuracy for computer tasks; demonstrates strong data analytical ability; demonstrates excellent customer service skills.
