This position is located at the Energy & Environmental Research Center (EERC), an international leader in energy and environmental research, conducting projects for clients throughout the United States and the world. This position will work with a multidisciplinary team of scientists and engineers to design well completions and analyze reservoir stimulation and production performance to facilitate the implementation of leading-edge concepts, technologies, operational strategies, and data applications that improve the performance of CO₂ EOR projects, CO₂ storage projects, and unconventional hydrocarbon recovery projects. We are looking for experienced, aggressive, scientifically trained, and market-oriented individuals to contribute to the success of the organization by performing one or more of the following functions:.

• Develop and advise EERC project teams and project stakeholders on well completion and reservoir stimulation designs compatible with research objectives and the operating environment. Work with stakeholders to evaluate performance and communicate the cost–benefit of options available.
• Assist EERC project teams and EERC clients with developing completion designs and surface infrastructure compatible with CO₂ EOR, CO₂ storage, and other challenging IOR environments.
• Prepare budgets and operating procedures for field activities. 
• Supervise fieldwork and project tasks.
• Remain up-to-date with new completions, reservoir surveillance, and reservoir stimulation  technology and practices.
• Adapt and integrate those leading-edge concepts, technologies, operational strategies, and data applications to improve the performance of CO₂ EOR projects, CO₂ storage projects, and unconventional hydrocarbon recovery projects.
• Work in strong collaboration with EERC subject matter experts, leadership, and clients to prepare proposals and to develop, pursue, and execute new business opportunities. 
• Adhere to and promote EERC core values, mission statement, policies, standard operating practices, and culture.
• Assist project managers by working as part of a diverse multidisciplinary team of scientists and engineers to ensure work is successfully completed on time, on budget, and within client expectations.
• Candidate is expected to effectively and professionally communicate progress, status, and knowledge sharing with stakeholders, including participating in or leading in-person meetings, Web meetings, conference calls, and presentations to stakeholders and at conferences. 
• Successful candidates would also be expected to prepare technical reports, conference papers, and peer-reviewed journal articles and to communicate technical results to clients and the scientific community.
• Some travel is required.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in petroleum engineering, geological engineering, reservoir engineering, or closely related field.
• 5 years of oil and gas industry and/or scientific research experience including pertinent experience with the design and analysis of well completions and reservoir stimulation in conventional and unconventional reservoirs.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in the design of well completions (particularly experience with CO₂ EOR-compatible completions).
• Experience with reservoir stimulation design (including hydraulic fracturing) and postjob analysis (particularly with unconventional oil and gas plays). 
• Experience with petroleum reserves calculations and/or decline curve analysis and/or production forecasting.
• Experience with the design and operation of oil and gas production and/or processing facilities (particularly related to CO₂ EOR, water flood, or other improved oil recovery technique).
• Experience planning and supervising oil and gas field work.
• Experience preparing budgets, working with vendors, and preparing operating procedures and leading field activities pertaining to well drilling, well completions, reservoir stimulation, and/or transportation and processing infrastructure.  
• Experience with oil and gas chemical programs (e.g., surfactants, well treatments, etc.).
• Experience or background in geochemistry.
• Experience or background in oil and gas produced water treatment.
• Experience in planning, budgeting, coordination, reporting, and management of research activities. 
• Experience integrating. operations, permitting, regulatory, and economics related to oil and gas activities.
