The department of Social Science at Valley City State University is seeking a full time, tenure-track faculty member to join the team.

The primary responsibility of this position is to teach courses as part of the Psychology degree program. Courses may include Introduction to Psychology, Developmental Psychology, Social Psychology, Ethics and Philosophy of Science, Cognition & Brain Science, Health Psychology and others depending on the interest of the candidate and needs of the department.

Other main duties include:

Advising undergraduate students
Engaging in service to the department, university, and academic community.
Developing professionally and staying current with course content.

Minimum Qualifications:

Master's degree in Psychology, area of concentration open
Ability to work with others in a collegial and collaborative manner

Preferred Qualifications:

PhD or ABD in Psychology, area of concentration open
Teaching experience in higher education in both face-to-face and online environments
Knowledge of effective teaching practices
Demonstrated proficiency with the use of technology in the classroom

Compensation:
The salary for this position is commensurate with qualifications, and typically ranges from $41,000 to $45,000 annually. Valley City has a population of approximately 6,500 and is located 60 miles west of Fargo on Interstate 94, making the campus easily accessible both from the east and west. The location of the community lends itself to cultural and recreational activities, and the newly constructed Gaukler Wellness Center offers a variety of services to members.
