The Cirrus ApproachTM team is seeking a highly-motivated, creative and detail-orientated person who is ready to apply their aviation and education expertise to the exciting challenges of flight training design and development. The Flight Training Developer will manage and grow our global training curriculum and learning content for all Cirrus aircraft. This person will drive the future of aviation education by providing quality flight instruction and developing innovative learning solutions.

Job Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):

As a Flight Training Developer, you're a part of the Cirrus ApproachTM team which helps pilots learn to fly a Cirrus aircraft. This is accomplished by collaborating with a cross-functional group of training specialists to develop a global network of flight training solutions. You will specialize in ab initio flight training curriculum. This includes determining the content, design, and delivery of specific ab initio training topics to help Cirrus pilots learn to fly for the first time. Alongside curriculum design and development, you will play a key role as a subject matter expert for all training content offered through Cirrus ApproachTM. For this reason, you'll conduct product discovery activities which includes piloting and flight instruction. You'll also be expected to independently plan and implement projects, including but not limited to: providing timelines, resource requirements, budgets, and scope.

Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Aviation and/or Education.

Current FAA CFII and second class medical certificate.

Current FAA IGI & AGI certificate, preferred.

2+ years of flight and/or ground instruction experience.

Pilot school certification and management experience, preferred.

Demonstrated Proficiencies/Skills/Abilities:
  • Proven ability to drive amazing learning experiences and results through flight training and implementation of accepted teaching methods.
  • Highly-skilled at identifying flight training needs, then inventing creative training solutions to meet those needs.
  • Strong written and verbal skills, with the ability to write clear and accurate technical documents describing processes and standards.
  • Proven ability in developing and managing training curriculum, preferred.
