Job Details

Position Description:
The Software Engineer in the NDSU Systems and Software Group ( SSG ) within the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department provides (1) software development duties, (2) software research duties, (3) technical assessment duties, (4) project scheduling (time, materials and effort) and (5) general project duties which may be required under the guidance of the Senior Project Manager in SSG . The position reports to the SSG Senior Project Managers.

The responsibilities include:
•Assisting the Senior Project Manager on all SSG activities as needed
•Develop software for NDSU and Center of Excellence ( COE ) partners
•Manage software and systems projects,
•Create and manage project schedules
•Travel, when required, for either NDSU or Partner functions or meetings
•Other duties as assigned
•Work safely

Minimum Qualifications:
•Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related technical field
•0.5 years of directly related work experience
•0.5 years of software development skills
•0.5 years of source code control, software testing and software build systems
•Organizational skills
•Ability to multi-task
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills
•Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
•Ability to prioritize duties and respond promptly to technical requests
•Ability to work independently and collaboratively

Preferred Qualifications:
•4+ years of directly related work experience.
•Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related technical field.
