Job Summary
The Manager of District Sales is responsible for managing sales activities within a specific district. This position ensures district sales and retention goals are met in the small and mid-sized employer group market for all lines of business and is also responsible for the oversight and operation of district and service office(s).

Experience Requirements
Required: Minimum of 5 Years
Preferred: Minimum of 7 Years
Experience Details: Minimum of 5 years of experience in direct sales of employee benefits and/or broker sales, of which 3 years of supervisory/staff experience is required.
Certification, Licensures & Registration Requirements
Title: Must have or obtain Insurance Producer License within 3 months of hire and maintain continuing education requirements annually.
State or Agency: ND
Equivalent combination of education, experience or training determined to be acceptable by Human Resources may be substituted, unless regulated by contract or program standards

The Manager of District Sales is responsible for managing sales activities within a specific district. Essential Functions
- Responsible for the direct supervision of others. Establishes performance objectives. Makes employment, probation and termination decisions. Motivates, coaches and develops staff providing feedback, training and development opportunities through work assignments and career discussions.
- Ensures that the district and service office(s) operate efficiently, that they provide an effective work environment for employees and deliver the highest level of customer service to clients.
- Ensures that the district office(s) are staffed appropriately and that they are trained and coached to maximize opportunities for sales, service and retention.
- Ensures the district(s) operate within budget including oversight of expenses, seeks efficiencies, reviews expense reports and ensures they are submitted on a timely basis.
- Provides feedback to upper management regarding competitive market and community information that may have an impact on the business.
- Promotes local service club and community involvement and attends local events to maintain presence in the market.
