SUMMARY: Liaising with cross market teams, gathering the necessary information required to make decisions for operational activities and set strategic goals. Planning and monitoring the day-to-day running of this team to ensure smooth progress. Supervising staff from different departments and provides constructive feedback.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Management of overall operations for Forum News Service; supervising both FNS team leads/ managers as well as news reporters.
  • Business development and networking for FNS; management of FNS clients and partners.
  • Working directly with FCC newsrooms to advance content initiatives, digital newsroom organization and accountability.
  • Development of new content ideas and presentation concepts for digital; advancing digital storytelling opportunities, tools and practice in newsrooms.
  • Facilitating, with assistance, ongoing training for FCC newsrooms.
  • Developing and managing significant, audience-driven FCC reporting projects; working with marketing teams on branding and promotion to build value and exposure.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Experience in a fast-paced newsroom in a management-level position.
  • Proven record of strong news judgement.
  • Experience using a variety of website/ social media management and optimization tools, as well as basic knowledge of analytics programs.
  • Understanding of digital content trends and industry best practices.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITY:
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
  • Basic knowledge of computers and various programs.
  • Must be able to multitask, juggling many different projects for a fast-paced environment.
  • Travel required
  • Ability to work quickly and accurately using a Web-based content management system.
  • Must be creative, hardworking and a self-starter.
  • AP Style knowledge a plus.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, talk, hear, use hands to fingers, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb, balance and stoop.
  • Occasionally required to lift and /or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Required to use close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to focus.
  • Works in both office setting and outside begin exposed to the elements.
