This position is responsible for the observation of construction projects while performing the following duties:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Obtains measurements and progress information and thoroughly details information in a daily report log
- Serves as the onsite representative for Moore Engineering projects
- Answers inquiries and complaints from residents and clients in a courteous and professional manor
- Coordinates on-site testing, when needed
- Inspects materials prior to installation
- Becomes thoroughly familiar with the plans and specifications for the construction project(s) assigned
- Points out potential problems to the Construction Project Manager
- Reads and interprets construction plans, blueprints, and maps
- Follows specific instructions on an independent basis
- Interprets and complies with company mandated safety policies
- Completes job specific quality system tasks as defined in quality manual
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum high school diploma or GED
- Minimum three years of experience in Civil Engineering or related field
- Knowledge of the Standard Specifications for sewer, water, and road construction, as well as their application
- General knowledge of the construction industry
- Must have valid driver’s license and be insurable
- Ability to perform physical work (i.e. strenuous walking, lifting 50+ pounds, catching basin grates and manhole covers, hauling equipment, etc.)
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Ability to work the same hours as the contractor, up to 16 hours per day when indicated
