JOB SUMMARY:

The loan officer assistant is responsible for providing direct clerical and administrative support to the loan officer(s) to enable the loan officer to grow and generate business. This includes providing exceptional customer service and support to internal and external customers.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

JOB FUNCTION NUMBER 1: Provide Loan Officer Support - 100%
  • Respond to all incoming phone calls from new or returning customers.
  • Analyze credit, income and assets to determine qualification for a mortgage.
  • Follow up requests to clients, agents, title companies and other 3rd party vendors for additional documentation that may be needed to obtain mortgage approval.
  • Research Investor, Agency, FHA, VA and Bond Program guidelines.
  • Conduct monthly follow up calls to clients that are pre-approved.
  • Maintain the loan officer's calendar, as requested.
  • Update key databases.
  • Create, edit, and print marketing pieces. Serve as the primary marketing lead to assist the loan officer as needed. Duties may include management of their CRM, implementation of Alerus marketing materials, execution of written and digital marketing promotions including social media. Issue pre-approval letters to clients as needed.
  • Issue pre-approval letters to clients as needed.
  • Run DU and LP and analyze findings.
  • Prepare and print application documents and disclosures as needed.
  • Understanding of product and pricing, lock loans with Investors as needed.

Requirements

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must have a minimum of 2 years' experience in mortgage processing.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with positive attitude.
  • Proficient in word, excel, publisher, email and social media sites.
  • Self-driven individual who can work well in team orientated atmosphere.
  • Respect of highly confidential information.
  • Ability to follow instructions and direction.
  • Standard office administrative practices and procedures including the use of standard office equipment.
  • Business correspondence formatting.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Spend extended periods of time sitting at a desk and using office equipment.
  • Extended time is spent reviewing documents, both actual papers or electronic.
  • The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
  • Periodically, may also do light lifting of supplies and materials which weighs in at approximately 20 lbs.
  • Will spend most of time in an indoor environment.
