Scope:

• Responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the care center, housing and related business lines. • Responsibilities will include strategic planning, staffing, financial management, supervising resident care, marketing and community outreach. • Strong knowledge of federal, state and local standards for long term care and housing is essential in this position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversight of Care Center and Housing Operations - Participate in setting strategic direction planning, decision making and budgeting for the Care Center. Work with division leaders to ensure that the operating division is meeting budget targets. • Regulatory Oversight - Oversee all functions of the care center. Ensure regulatory compliance in all departments. Oversee MDH surveys and OHFC Compliance and complaints. Keep staff informed of changes in regulations. Communicate with families, residents, and staff on a regular basis. Set agenda for the Care Center Operations monthly meeting. • Supervise Personnel - Interview, train, orientate, evaluate, recognize and disciplines staff as needed. This includes providing day to day work direction and problem solving as issues or conflicts arise. Will conduct meetings on a regular basis with all department managers to give feedback and ensure efficient delivery of services to our clients. Continually communicate expectations with staff. Ensure staff complies with online education training. Follow organizational and Human Resource policies. Provide ongoing employee education and development opportunities which meet regulatory requirements and increase knowledge. Create and maintain a work environment for employees that is conducive to high productivity and morale. Establish and maintain effective communication systems with employees. • Quality Improvement - Oversight of quality improvement for the Care Center. Will develop benchmarks with leadership to ensure quality improvement. Will explore direct care trends to achieve highest possible quality and lowest possible cost (best value). Seek, recommend, and/or implement new methods and means of providing quality service and continuous improvement. • Continuous Improvement - Actively participate in and implements quality performance in all aspects of job responsibilities and functions. This includes all interactions with clients, staff, visitors, and the community at large. Participate in and promotes teamwork. Seek, recommend, and/or implement new methods and means of providing quality service and continuous improvement. • Other Duties as Assigned - Assist in special projects as needed by the President and CEO and COO. Contribute board agenda items when requested. Attend in service training and other work-related meetings as required (some may require travel and overnights). Represent and promotes KN to individuals and groups within the community. Education and Experience Required:

• Required to have a Bachelor’s degree in related field. • Six to eight years of Health Services and/or operations management experience. • Nursing Home Administrator License in the state of MN. • Must possess strong management, problem solving and analytical skills. • Must have an excellent knowledge of federal and state regulations and guidelines. • Able to physically perform the duties required by the position. • Required to have the ability to read, write and speak English well enough to communicate with staff, residents and visitors.
