The Dynamic Engineering function within the Asset Management business area provide consultancy services to the Oil & Gas, Process and Power Generation sectors in the field of Noise & Vibration. Within this function we have an opportunity for a Function Lead to join the team and manage the functions technical and operational capability overseeing current projects, products, resources and customers. This post will also include line management responsibility for engineering group leaders.

Reporting to the Department Manager, the Function Lead will lead and oversee the department’s operational activities while promoting growth and career aspirations of direct reports. This post will also oversee project management of all commercial contracts within the department, ensuring that all contractual obligations are met. Other duties will include the allocation of resource and equipment to projects and management of workflow department engineers such that they are kept fully utilised on contracts to minimise non-productive time.

The Function Lead will be a qualified Mechanical Engineer and ideally be a chartered engineer and/or have a PhD in a relevant subject. With experience in a similar technical role, you will have a thorough understanding of project management and cost control process and the integrity management work carried out by the department. In addition you will have proven ability to effectively lead and motivate a team of technical staff.

What skills, education, and experiences does your ideal candidate(s) have?

•Education Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent
•These are entry level opportunities
•Must be able to follow established methods and procedures and perform work accordingly. Must have the ability to work rapidly and under time pressure for extended periods of time in order to meet build requirements. Must possess the ability to read build sheets and blueprints.
•The ability to communicate with supervisors and fellow workers in both written and verbal forms at a level normally acquired through the completion of a high school diploma or GED is required.
•Job specific skills, techniques and safe work and equipment operating practices are learned through on-the-job and classroom training. General instructions are given on recurring duties, operations and assignments; detailed instructions are given on new duties, operations and assignments.
