Job Details

The Spiritual Care Coordinator exists to bring a holistic vision to the Anne Carlsen Center in body, mind and spirit. This position provides spiritual and pastoral support for clients, their families, and staff.

QUALIFICATIONS (minimum requirements)



Education and/or years’ experience required:
  • The prospective candidate must possess a bachelor’s degree; prefer a master’s degree in religion, theology, divinity or a related field of study. Prefer chaplaincy/spiritual care experience in acute care, hospice, long-term care, and/or residential care settings.
  • The ideal candidate should have completed at least one unit of Clinical Pastoral Education (and preferably 4) from the Association of Pastoral Education or equivalent experience.
  • The incumbent will hold a Chaplain’s certification or have met all qualifications to obtain a chaplain certification from an administering institution (e.g., Healthcare Chaplaincy Ministry Association or the Association of Professional Chaplains).



Preferred/Required Skills and Abilities:
  • The prospective candidate needs administrative skills and experience working with technology – computers, mobile devices and other communication technologies.
  • Experience in or willingness to specialize in pediatrics/youth along with experience or a commitment to develop skills in working with individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities.
  • The Spiritual Care Coordinator must be a team player and will work as part of an interdisciplinary team, providing pastoral care and ministry throughout the Center. Responsibilities may also include small group facilitation and the provision of educational programs as needed.
  • Represents a caring presence to any individual or family in need, regardless of spiritual, ecclesiastical, or denominational tradition. A listener skilled in both verbal and non-verbal communication, the Spiritual Care Coordinator is sensitive and responsive to individual feelings and spiritual/emotional needs.
