Hiring Department:  Student Services, College of Nursing & Professional Disciplines

Minimum Hiring Salary/Position Classification:  $38,500/Annual, Full-Time, benefitted, non-exempt. 
Benefits: Includes single or family health care coverage (premiums paid for by the university), basic life insurance, EAP, retirement plan, tuition waiver, annual and sick leave.  Optional benefits available: supplemental life, dental, vision, long term care insurance, flexible spending account, supplemental retirement plans. 
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm

The mission of the College of Nursing and Professional Disciplines (CNPD) is to prepare future leaders, to advance human well-being and improve quality of life for diverse populations, with an emphasis on rural communities in North Dakota, the region and beyond, through the provision of high-quality innovative inter-professional education, research and service. The CNPD is comprised of three departments: Nursing, Nutrition & Dietetics, and Social Work.
 
The Student Services Office Manager’s primary responsibility is to provide administrative and operational support to ensure efficient and effective operation of the Office of Student Services.


Duties and Responsibilities (not all inclusive):
Reception and Traffic Management

  • Greet, welcome and provide a positive customer service oriented experience to all visitors and clients.
  • Provide information, direction and answers to basic questions verbally and/or in writing when possible.
  • Ask customers qualifying questions to determine correct referral.
  • Orient students to drop-in and appointment making procedures and assist as necessary.
  • Receive and process incoming forms.
  • Maintain master calendar.
  • Other duties as assigned

Data Collection, Maintenance and Reporting

  • Create electronic files for admitted students.
  • Enter all required information into student database.
  • Maintain, monitor and moderate student listservs.
  • Monitor and record student admission deposits.
  • Assign newly admitted students to an OSS advisor.
  • Create, maintain and distribute electronic advisor list.
  • Provide data entry, review and maintenance support as directed.
  • Research and gather data required for periodic reports to accrediting and university sources.
  • Maintain familiarity with current and proposed database management systems employed by the college and university, including new CRM (Customer Relationship Management) system.
  • Other duties as assigned

Program Support

  • Serve as liaison with university and/or online program management staff.
  • Provide support to advising staff.
  • Assist in the processing of admission applications and associated documentation.
  • Develop and manage communication plan for OSS.
  • Assist in dissemination of admission letters and other communication.
  • Communicate and update master course schedules.
  • Administer exams required for admission.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Records Maintenance

  • Monitor and maintain student records.
  • Process licensure and certification application documents.
  • Process verification documentation and communication process to students.
  • Contact students when verifications are due or out of date.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Student Worker Supervision

  • Coordinate work schedules and assignments.
  • Monitor student worker performance.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements
:

  • Associate’s degree
  • Two years of administrative experience
  • Experience working with records maintenance
  • Customer service experience
  • Strong attention to detail and experience with data entry
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software required
  • Successful completion of criminal history background check

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
  • Experience in academic setting
  • Proven work experience as a team leader or supervisor
  • Experience with database technology, proficiency preferred
